Kaelen the Forsaken Beast
 
“He begged for strength to save them,
but the Codex gave him fangs to slay them.
The oath of a lord was broken
by the hunger of a beast.”
 
Once a lord of steel and oath, Kaelen turned to the Codex in desperation when tragedy shadowed his house. His wife, Elara, carried a child, but the blood moon had marked their line for death. Kaelen begged the Codex for life — for strength to defy the moon and protect what he loved.
The Codex, ever treacherous, granted his plea. Power surged within him, a feral strength beyond men. But it came at the cost of his humanity. Beneath the first Blood Eclipse, he was unmade, reshaped into a beast of fang and hunger. When the moon rose full, he tore Elara’s throat in his first frenzy, and his unborn child was claimed by the same bargain.
Now he roams as the Forsaken Beast, cursed with endless rage and fragments of memory. He does not know his wife’s scream birthed her eternal sorrow, nor that his child walks as the Dirgeborn. To him, the world is red and wild, and every cycle he howls at the Codex that bound him.
