Morvanna — The Skull-Bearer
Crown of horn,
mask of bone.
Her face is lost,
her burden eternal.
Morvanna once walked as a huntress, cloaked in trophies of her kills. She believed the skull of the great beast she slew would grant her dominion over life and death. But the Codex does not suffer pride.
The skull fused to her brow, its horns weighing her spine, its sockets darkening her eyes. Her own face vanished beneath marrow, her voice hollowed by carrion’s breath. Now she walks as a herald of endings, her every step shadowed by the cries of slaughtered beasts whose bones she bears.
Those who meet her gaze see not a woman, but the echo of every carcass that fed the soil. Her eyes burn with hunger not her own, her mouth murmurs prophecies not from gods, but from marrow. The Codex names her the Skull-Bearer — neither hunter nor prey, but a crown of rot that will never be lifted.
